This was a very delightful story that uses the whimsy of fairy tales to introduce necessary life skills to youngsters, such as meditation and stillness. The author, Keller, empowers the readers with a sense of self-efficacy. She shows them that they can look inward to access the tools they need to solve problems. Keller also acknowledges that while we can learn and grow in our ability to solve our own problems, we will always benefit from the wisdom and guidance of others more experienced. The Garden of Calilily is filled with beautiful illustrations, and powerful lessons we could all stand to be reminded of. It is a lovely story to share with your children and the child within us all.
